BETHLEHEM (PA) – The sister tandem of Alyson and Kelsey Johnson combined for 22 points and 16 rebounds as Albany College of Pharmacy posted a 49-38 triumph over Delaware Valley College in the opening round of the 11th annual Starters Moravian Winter Classic.
The Aggies (6-4) will now battle Medgar Evers College in Tuesday's consolation game (1:00 p.m.). Medgar Evers dropped a 96-19 decision to Moravian in the other opening round contest.
Delaware Valley, which hit the court for the first time since December 10, struggled from the field as it hit just 13 of 57 shots (22.8%), including a 1-for-16 (6.3%) effort from 3-point land. The Aggies did force 25 turnovers, but were outrebounded by a 55-34 margin.

Grace Mirack connected on a trey and followed shortly after with a layup. However, the Panthers (6-3) responded with 14 straight points to take a nine-point advantage. The Aggies got back to within five on two occasions in the first half, but they went into the intermission down 10 and never got closer than seven in the second stanza.
Alyson Johnson had 11 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots while Kelsey Johnson added 11 points, six boards and four assists for Albany College of Pharmacy. Taylor Sullivan contributed 10 points and eight rebounds in the win.
No Delaware Valley player hit double digits in scoring as
Emily Soper led the way with eight points.
Shannon Barlow finished with seven points and 13 rebounds while Mirack and
Sarah Delcasale also scored seven points apiece.
