DELVAL BLANKS ARCADIA FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT

GLENSIDE (PA) – Delaware Valley College reached the .500 mark and tied a school record with its third straight shutout as the Aggies blanked host Arcadia University, 2-0, in a non-conference game.

The win lifted Delaware Valley to 4-4 record as it now get sets to start Freedom Conference play with a trip to FDU-Florham on Saturday, October 1. They have not allowed a goal for more than 200 minutes and the three consecutive shutouts matched a feat that was accomplished two other times in program history.

Chris Shaffer picked up his first collegiate start in net and notched six saves in more than 56 minutes of action. DJ Meisinger played the remainder of the game and stopped three shots.

The game was scoreless as the end of the first half neared, but James Fay took a pass from Alex Stear and sent a 30-yard floater past Arcadia goalkeeper Ryan Lantzy with 11 ticks remaining. The Aggies added to the lead six minutes into the second stanza as Kevin Robinson scored and Joey Ordile was credited with the assist. Delaware Valley's defense, led by Josh Burnside, took care of the rest from there.

Arcadia (4-5) did hold a 24-6 advantage in shots and a 7-0 advantage in corners. Lantz finished with three saves in the loss.
