DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Tyler Yankovich scored two goals and assisted on another as Delaware Valley College downed visiting Valley Forge Christian College, 4-0, in a non-conference game.
The win was the second straight for the Aggies as they improved to 3-4 on the year. The Patriots fell to 1-7.
Yankovich helped Delaware Valley get on the board 17 minutes in as both he and
Joey Ordile were credited with assists on
Alex Stear's second goal of the season. Seven minutes later, freshman
Kevin Robinson followed with his first collegiate goal off a feed from fellow rookie
Adam Roland.
Yankovich then scored twice in the six-man span in the second half for the 4-0 final. The junior's first tally was setup by
Dan Mackin while
Tim Sullivan was credited with an assist on the second. Yankovich leads the team in scoring with five goals and one assist for 11 points.
The Aggies outshot Valley Forge Christian, 34-7, and held an 11-2 edge in corner kicks.
DJ Meisinger and
Chris Shaffer combined for four saves and the shutout. Brice Koch was credited for 16 stops for the Patriots.
