DELVAL SUFFERS 90-70 UPSET LOSS AT FDU-FLORHAM

MADISON (NJ) – FDU-Florham shot 55.8 percent from the field, including a 59.3 percent effort in the second half, as the host Devils pulled away to a 90-70 upset victory over Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.

The victory improved FDU-Florham to 4-16 overall and 2-7 in league action. Meanwhile, the Aggies' loss, combined with DeSales University's 70-65 victory over Manhattanville College, left Delaware Valley (12-8 overall) and the Bulldogs tied for first in the Freedom with 6-3 league marks. The two teams will battle on Delaware Valley's home court this Saturday, February 5 (3:00 p.m.). In their first meeting back in December, the Aggies left Center Valley with an 82-79 overtime victory.

Thursday's first half went back and forth with FDU-Florham eventually taking a 33-28 advantage into the intermission. The Devils hit 13 of 25 shots from the field in the opening 20 minutes and they continued their hot touch by connecting on 16 of 27 attempts in the second stanza.

That shooting helped FDU-Florham take a 62-42 lead with 10 minutes remaining. Delaware Valley scored seven straight and 10 of 12 to make it a 12-point game just two minutes later. The Aggies stayed within 12 for the next five minutes before the Devils scored 12 of the game's final 16 points for the 90-70 final.

Adam Katz was a perfect 12-for-12 from the foul line and finished with a game-high 25 points for FDU-Florham. Alex Rosario was 7-for-8 from the field and followed with 17 points while Ricky Fetske and Will Green added 11 and 10 points respectively.
