WESLEY POSTS 4-1 TRIUMPH OVER DELVAL

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Wesley College ran its unbeaten streak to six games as the Wolverines scored the first three goals and finished with a 4-1 triumph over host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game.

Wesley improved to 5-3-4 overall, including 3-0-3 over a recent span. The Aggies fell to 4-7 on the season.

Joshua Chelleh assisted on three goals in the contest, including a pair of first-half tallies for the Wolverines. Chelleh dribbled into the box and his pass was tipped into the net by Kumenwu Farmah midway through the opening stanza. Then with 4:16 remaining before the intermission, a Chelleh crossing pass was headed in by Nico Scarpato for a 2-0 advantage.

Scarapato helped Wesley take a 3-0 lead just 14 minutes into the second half as he fed a pass to Dan Featherer for Featherer's sixth goal of the season.

Delaware Valley hit the scoreboard with 17:04 to go as Justin Mannato sent Kevin Robinson in on a breakaway. The freshman blasted a shot home for his third goal of the season. However, Wesley put any hopes of a comeback away with nine minutes remaining as Chelleh assisted on a Danny Ramirez tally.

Wesley outshot the Aggies, 16-6, and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. DJ Meisinger and Chris Shaffer combined for five saves in the loss.
