MANHATTANVILLE POSTS 4-1 VICTORY OVER DELVAL

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Eros Olazabal scored a pair of goals while Erick Olazabal notched three assist as regionally-ranked Manhattanville College moved into a first-place tie in the Freedom Conference with a 4-1 victory at Delaware Valley College.

The Valiants, who are ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, improved to 13-3 overall, 5-1 and tied with DeSales University atop the league standings. The Aggies fell to 4-12 and 0-6.

Manhattanville hit the scoreboard 21:33 into the first half as Erick Olazabal sent his brother Eros on a breakaway and he connected for his 22nd goal of the season. The two teamed up against seven minute with Eros Olazabal blasting home another tally. Erick Olazabal picked up his third assist with 4:20 remaining in the first half as his crossing pass was headed into the net by Marco Blasetti.

The Valiants made it a 4-0 contest with 39:39 remaining as Emil Sjoberg took a pass from Yani Quinteros on a give-and-go and notched his third goal of the year. Delaware Valley avoided the shutout with 14:09 remaining as Tom Masterson deflected home a James Fay shot for his third tally of the season.

Manhattanville outshot the Aggies, 21-11. The Valiants' Jason Torres and Delaware Valley's Chris Shaffer each had six saves in the game.
