DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College extended is record winning streak to nine as the Aggies posted 3-0 victories over Alvernia University and Albright College in the Middle Atlantic Conference Crossover Tournament.
The tournament, which was held at Delaware Valley, featured a pair of Freedom schools (Delaware Valley and Wilkes University) taking on a pair of Commonwealth schools (Albright and Alvernia). The Aggies had little trouble as they moved their overall record to 14-3 and broke the previous consecutive win mark of seven set by the 1985 squad.
Delaware Valley opened with Alvernia and won by set scores of 25-19, 25-12 and 25-17. Freshman
Gina Page led the way with 12 kills while also adding nine digs. Sophomores
Janel Gluch,
Destinee Horning and
Alyssa Riggins had seven kills apiece while freshman
Crystal Ronan dished out 28 assists.
The Aggies concluded their day by downing Albright by set scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-21. Gluch finished with 14 kill while Riggins notched eight kills and 14 digs. Horning had seven kills and 10 digs and Ronan finished with 29 assists.
In the middle matches, Albright (5-12) and Alvernia (7-7) posted victories over Wilkes (1-14).
