DELVAL DROPS 3-1 MATCH TO FDU-FLORHAM

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Three FDU-Florham players notched 11 kills apiece to lead the Devils to a 3-1, Freedom Conference victory over host Delaware Valley College. Set scores were 25-21, 25-17, 16-25 and 25-17.

The win improved FDU-Florham to 18-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference while the Aggies fell to 8-9 and 2-2.

The first set saw Delaware Valley cut a 21-14 deficit to 23-21. However, a kill by the Devils' Chelsea Hoeffler and an Aggie error finished off the set. The second set was tied at 12-12 before FDU-Florham captured 13 of next 18 points to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Delaware Valley rallied from an 11-7 deficit in the third deficit by winning 16 of the next 20 points for a 23-15 advantage. The squad eventually forced an extra set with a 25-16 score. However, the Devils led from start to finish in the fourth set to come away with the road victory.

Hoeffler, Lauren Brazier and Jenna Cowie paced FDU-Florham in kills and dominated other categories as well. Brazier had 10 block assists while Cowie added seven block assists. Hoeffler finished with 19 digs. Kerry Kuperman added 35 assists and 25 digs in the win.

Kaitlyn Olsen led all players with 12 kills for Delaware Valley. Janel Gluch and Destinee Horning followed with nine and eight kills respectively with Horning also contributing 22 digs. The trio of Jen Keller, Ashley Mikulsky and Alyssa Riggins combined for 56 digs while Amy Scordato ended the evening with 32 assists and 12 digs.
