AGGIES END SEASON WITH 3-0 WIN OVER NEW JERSEY CITY

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College volleyball team concluded its 2010 season with a 3-0, non-conference victory over visiting New Jersey City University. Set scores were 25-9, 25-12 and 25-15.

The Aggies finished with a 12-16 overall record and their fourth straight year of double-digit victories. The Gothic Nights ended their campaign with 7-20 record.

Delaware Valley honored its two seniors – Ashley Mikulsky and Amy Scordato before the match. Mikulsky finished the evening with six kills and 11 digs to up her career totals to 604 kills and 1,279 digs. The dig total is the second-highest in school history since the sport changed to the rally scoring format. Scordato dished out 27 assists to give her 1,472 assists. She is second all-time in the category and also holds the single-season mark in the rally era with her 769 assists this year.

Freshman Janel Gluch paced the Aggies with 10 kills and five blocks. Junior Kaitlyn Olsen added nine kills while freshman Destiniee Horning notched six kills, nine digs, five blocks and three service aces.

Michelle Rayo had seven kills and eight digs while Alex Johanesen handed out 15 assists for New Jersey City.
