DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Tom Antonucci moved closer to the Delaware Valley College all-time record for goals and points, but FDU-Florham's Josh Corpuz scored twice to give the Devils a 2-1 road victory in a Freedom Conference game.
FDU-Florham improved their record to 7-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference. The Aggies fell to 5-7-1 and 0-3.
Antonucci opened the scoring just 10:39 into the contest as he took a feed from Jim Fay and beat FDU-Florham goalkeeper Tim Kirk for his third goal of the season and the 22nd of his career. The senior tied 2002 grad Logan Dunn for second place on the all-time list and put him just one behind 2002 grad Tommy Arndt's record total. Antonucci also moved into a tie with 1999 grad Bryan Purcaro for third place on the all-time scoring list with 55 points. Dunn holds that mark with 59 points.
However, the Aggie was short-lived as Corpuz found the net exactly eight minutes later. Nick Maccarrone was credited with the assist. Corpuz then gave the Devils a 2-1 advantage with 17:42 left in the half as he took a pass from Manny Almeida and connected on his seventh goal of the season. Neither team found the net for the remaining 62 minutes as FDU-Florham came away with the win.
The Devils held advantages of 16-10 in shots and 4-1 in corners. Kirk finished with three saves while D.J. Meisinger had seven stops for Delaware Valley.
