DOYLESTOWN (PA) –
Jason Goldheimer hit six 3-pointers and tied a career high with 22 points as Delaware Valley College posted a 96-72 victory over visiting Penn State Berks in a non-conference game.
The win improved the Aggies to 6-5 on the season as they get set to re-enter Freedom Conference play with a trip to Misericordia University on Saturday, January 9. The Nittany Lions saw their record fall to 1-8.
Delaware Valley never trailed in the contest. It took a 44-27 lead into halftime and upped the advantage to as many as 30 in the second stanza. The Aggies shot 47.5 percent from the field for the game, including a 53.6 percent effort in the second half, and went to the foul line 39 times (28-for-39) compared to just 14 (6-for-14) by Penn State Berks.
Goldheimer, a junior, hit a trio of treys in each half and finished 6-for-9 from beyond the arc. He was also a perfect 4-for-4 as he matched his scoring total from a game against King's College last season.
Darryl White posted a double-double in his second straight contest as the transfer center had 16 points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes of action.
James Jones added 15 points and five assists while
Chris Mayo contributed 14 points and six boards.
Jon Evans and Mike Willams each had nine points off the bench with Williams also adding eight rebounds.
Adam Fusco poured in 21 points to pace Penn State Berks. Kemian Flowers notched 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds while Dontale King and Vonte Shippen added 12 and 11 points respectively.
