DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Senior guard
Jason Seipt became Delaware Valley College's all-time leader in assists as the Aggies won their fifth game in a row for the first time in 24 seasons with a 68-61 victory over visiting FDU-Florham in a Freedom Conference game.

Casey Stitzel and the Aggies are now 9-10 overall and 5-6 in the conference. They matched the longest streak by the program since the 1984-85 squad ran off five straight as part of a 12-12 season. Delaware Valley, which was winless in Freedom play last season, is now in sole possession of the fifth and final playoff spot in the Freedom with five league games remaining. The team has not made the conference postseason since 1969.
Seipt, the lone four-year player remaining with the program and who experienced just 13 wins in his first three seasons combined. had four assists in the game to up his career total to 391 and break the mark of 389 set by Joe Butts from 1985 to 1989. The record-breaking helper came on a
Mike Williams jumper with 14:27 remaining in the contest.
The Aggies were firing on all cylinders in the first 11 minutes of the game as they jumped out to a 24-7 advantage.
James Jones notched seven points in the run while 6-foot-5 center added six on a pair of 3-pointers.
The Devils (17-14, 5-7) scored 11 of the next 13 to cut the Delaware Valley lead to eight. The advantage dwindled down to seven before the Aggies took a 33-25 lead into the intermission.
A trey by George Twill pulled FDU-Florham to within five, but Delaware Valley scored six straight, capped by Williams' dunk to move the lead back up into double digits at 11. It was still an 11-point game, 44-33 as Williams hit the jumper on Seipt's record-breaking assist. However, the Devils outscored the Aggies, 10-2 over the next five minutes to trail 46-43 with 9:12 remaining.
Delaware Valley got the advantage back up to nine before FDU-Florham made it a one-possession game at 65-62 as Ryan McPherson made one of two foul shots with 23 seconds remaining.
Chris Mayo was fouled three seconds later and the Aggie freshman swished both free throws for a five-point lead. McPherson and Williams traded free throws to leave it at 66-61. McPherson missed a 3-pointer,
Jason Goldheimer grabbed the board and was fouled with seven seconds remaining. The sophomore guard drained both free throws to seal the contest.
Jones finished the evening with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Williams had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds and he also added four assists and four steals. Mayo and Seipt poured in 10 points apiece for the win.
Mike Henry led FDU-Florham with 20 points while McPherson finished with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
