DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Wilkes University men's soccer team netted three goals in the second half as the Colonels posted a 3-0 triumph over host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.
Wilkes improved to 7-8-1 overall, 3-2-1 and tied for third place in the Freedom. The Aggies fell to 6-9-1 overall and 0-6 in league action.
After a scoreless first half, the Colonels got all the offense they needed just 5:11 into the second stanza as Sean Vona scored off an assist from Arthur Jankowski. Joe Brennan added his fifth goal of the year off a Greg Miller assist with 23:02 remaining, and Vona ended the scoring with his second of the game and fifth of the season with just 2:55 left on the clock.
Wilkes held advantages of 21-12 in shots and 6-4 in corners. Kaleb Smith stopped three shots and picked up the shutout while D.J. Meisinger had three saves for the Aggies.
