AGGIES SPLIT TRI-MATCH

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley College volleyball team opened its season by splitting a home tri-match as the Aggies downed Bryn Mawr College, 3-1, before falling by the same score to Albright College.

In the opening match, the Aggies had a key rally in the second set, en route to a 3-1 win. After taking the first set, 25-15, Delaware Valley trailed 24-21 in set number two. However, the squad scored five straight points to take the set and a 2-0 lead.

The Owls took the third set, 25-20, but the Aggies closed out the win with a 25-16 outcome in the fourth. Freshman Kaitlyn Olsen paced the Aggies with 10 kills while fellow rookie Amy Estep notched eight kills and 17 digs. Sophomores Kelsey Fisher and Ashley Mikulsky had seven and six kills respective while senior Kate Klish dug out 24 balls.

Delaware Valley took the opening set, 25-14, from Albright before dropping the next three (25-22, 25-23, 25-19) for the loss. Milulsky led the way with 10 kills while adding 13 digs while Estep had eight kills and 11 digs. Klish notched 29 digs while Jaki Blood and Amy Scordato combined for 26 assists. Cassandra Campbell paced the Lions with 12 kills.
