Ben Wilson

2024 will mark the third season for Ben Wilson as head coach of the Delaware Valley Women’s Soccer program.

In 2024, Wilson's leading scorer, senior Jess Williamson, moved up into second all-time leading scorer for the Aggies with 54 goals, 27 assists, and 230 points, passing Hall of Famer Elise Dauber '09. Along with Williamson, goalkeeper Viola Anderson earned first-team all-conference honors as the MAC Freedom's best goalie. 

In 2023, Wilson guided the Aggies to seven wins and a pair of ties, one of which was a conference knot with King's College 2-2. Two players were named to the All-MAC Freedom teams, including Jess Williamson and Savannah Rennix. Rennix led the conference in points (42) and goals (18) while Williamson followed suit with 38 points and led the Freedom with 12 assists. In against Keystone, the team broke the program record, scoring 10 goals in a game, and the 2023 team holds current point (154), goal (57), and assist (40) records.

Wilson coached the Aggies to six wins during the 2022 campaign, including back-to-back shutout victories to open the season in early September against Cairn and Manhattanville. During his first season as head coach, Wilson had two players nominated for the 2022 All-MAC Freedom Women’s Soccer Team. Senior goalkeeper, Olivia Sherwood was a First Team selection, and Sophomore Jess Williamson was a Second Team selection.

Wilson comes to DelVal after serving as head coach at of the Conestoga Girls Varsity program for six seasons. Wilson took over a program at Conestoga that recorded just five wins the season prior to his arrival. In his first year, Wilson led the team to a one-loss season and a trip to the PIAA AAAA state tournament. The success continued with three Central League Championships, a District 1 title, and four trips to the state tournament, including two state runner-up finishes in 2019 and 2021. In six seasons, Wilson recorded a 95-19-12 overall mark with a league record of 54-7-7. His teams ranked as high as first in the state and in the Mid-Atlantic region, and as high as 8th/9th in the country according to United Soccer Coaches and USA Today, respectively.

Wilson was named Pennsylvania's "High School Coach of Significance" by United Soccer Coaches in 2018 and named "Area Coach of the Year" by Daily Local News in 2019 and 2021. At Conestoga, he coached three All-Americans including Pennsylvania Player of the Year and Gatorade National Player of the Year nominee, Caitlin Donovan.
Prior to Conestoga, Wilson spent one season as the head girl's varsity soccer coach at Episcopal Academy where he posted a 15-4-2 record and was a PAISAA State Championship finalist.

His collegiate experience includes stints as a full-time assistant coach at Division III members Susquehanna University and Moravian College. As an assistant, Wilson was heavily involved in all aspects of on-field coaching and administrative work.
During his collegiate career, Wilson was a two-sport student-athlete at Susquehanna. He was a member of the men's soccer team where he played defense and forward, and competed in indoor/outdoor track and field as a mid-distance/sprinter where he served as team captain and earned numerous All-Landmark Conference accolades. He graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies and a minor in International Studies with a focus on Cross-Cultural Comparison.
Currently, Wilson continues to work with the Philadelphia Union as a Program Youth Coach and Youth Goalkeeping Coach where he coaches individual sessions for various Union Youth being scouted for Academy entry. Additionally, he is the founder, owner and Head WPSL Coach at Athena Soccer Club.
