Ramona Walters

Walters was named the first head coach in Delaware Valley University women's lacrosse history on August 13, 2013. After spending the 2013-14 season recruiting and putting together the program, she has led the team 20 wins over four seasons on the field.

The top campaign was 2017 where Walters led DelVal to its first winning record with an 8-6 finish. Two of those triumphs came in conference contests - the first league wins in program history-  and the final mark also included a record five-game winning streak. Kara Imes was named to the all-conference team while she was among seven players who earned a spot on the conference academic honor roll.

Imes and six teammates were on the 2018 academic honor roll while Courtney Knight was named to the all-MAC Freedom team.

In the inaugural 2015 season, Walters and DelVal routed Cedar Crest College, 22-10, in the program's first-ever home game and the second contest of the year. Imes was named to the all-Freedom Conference team after the year. The squad improved in 2016, winning four of its first five contests en route to a 5-9 finish

Walters coached at the Division III level for six years prior to arriving at DelVal, including a three-year stint as the head coach of North Carolina Wesleyan College. She took over the program after it went through a two-year hiatus of competition and had four players earn all-conference honors from 2010 to 2012.

Walters spent the 2012-13 season as a full-time assistant coach at Ithaca College and work primarily with the defense in addition to recruiting, film editing and academic support duties. The Bombers went 12-6 and was a game shy of reaching the NCAA Division III playoffs as they fell in the Empire 8 Championship Game.

Walters served under head coach Shannon McHale at Ithaca where they earned Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year honors. McHale was also her coach when Walters was a four-year standout at St. John Fisher College. She earned all-Empire 8 honors all four years as a midfielder/defender with the Cardinals and graduated from the institution in 2007 with a degree in psychology.

Following graduation, Walters spent the 2007-08 season as an assistant coach at St. John Fisher.
