Thoensen joined Head Coach Lisa Clark's coaching staff in November of 2021.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and a minor in Health Care Administration Management - Gerontology from Slippery Rock University where she was a three-year standout for The Rock women's lacrosse team.
As a midfielder and draw control specialist, Thoensen scored 13 goals with 26 draw controls and 16 caused turnovers in her career. as she helped the team to two PSAC playoff appearances. Academically, she was a three-time PSAC scholar athlete, IWLCA Academic Honor Roll selection, and served as a SAAC representative.
Thoensen is currently the Head Coach of Garden Spot Middle School & Youth program where she took a winless program and led it to consecutive winning seasons. Additionally, she has coached recruiting clinics for University of Pittsburgh's inaugural team (2019), helped coach recruiting clinics at Slippery Rock (2016-2020), and coached private lessons (2016-2017).
