Coach Zirpoli

Chris Zirpoli

A 2006 graduate of Delaware Valley University, Zirpoli returned to his alma mater in May 2017 to take over as head coach of the Aggies. He led the team to six wins in his rookie campaign.

In 2019, the Aggies ripped off three straight overtime wins and maintained a four-game unbeaten streak, the program's best stretch since 2012. Senior Austin Daniels led the league in goals (9) and game-winning tallies (3), and finished second in points (20) on his way to an All-MAC Freedom honorable mention nod.

Zirpoli was a goalkeeper for DelVal from 2002 to 2005 and served a captain for his senior season. He was injured for nearly all of that campaign in ’05, but returned in time for Senior Day and set a school single-game record with 26 saves against Drew University, which was a member and soccer power of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom at the time. That record still stands today.

After graduating from DelVal with a bachelor of science degree in business administration (sports management concentration), Zirpoli remained with the Aggies as an assistant coach for one season. He became an assistant girl’s soccer varsity coach and head junior varsity coach at Holy Cross High School from 2007 to 2010 and returned for a second stint in 2013.

Zirpoli joined the head coaching ranks in 2009 as he became the first-ever women’s soccer coach at Cumberland County College. In just the second of his four years at the helm, Zirpoli helped lead the team to a NJCAA Region 19 playoff berth. He coached a pair of Academic All-Americans as well.

Zirpoli also served as an assistant men’s soccer coach/goalkeeper coach at Division III Cabrini College for two years. The Cavaliers went 15-3-3, won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship and earned a bid to the NCAAs in 2015. The next year, they won 12 games and reached the CSAC title game.

Zirpoli has been the General Manager for the Philadelphia Union Soccer Schools since 2012 where he develops and manages all logistics and curriculum for the camps as well as recruits, interview and select employees. He earned his Master’s degree in sports administration from Canisius College in 2015.
