Sean Tait enters his third season at DelVal and brings a wealth of experience both playing and as a coach.
Tait began his coaching career as the junior varsity head coach at Archbishop Wood High School in 2006. After serving in that position for two seasons, he was promoted to head coach for the 2008-2009 season, a year in which he led the team to a 16-7 record and was named the Bucks County Courier Times Coach of the Year. Â
Tait moved on after one season to become the head coach at his alma mater, Father Judge, from 2009-2021. During his stint, he compiled a 132-133 record and earned a playoff spot in nine of those seasons and was named the 2016-17 Philadelphia Catholic League coach of the year. His impact at Wood lasted past the high school level, as 22 players went on to play at the collegiate level after playing for Tait.
Tait played collegiately at Cabrini University from 1995-1999, earning 1st team All-PAC honors in 1997 and honorable mention All-Pac in 1998. During his 1997 season, Tait averaged 17.1 points per game and helped lead the Cavaliers to a PAC championship.
During his high school playing years, Tait led Father Judge to a Northern Division championship while earning Catholic League MVP honors in 1995.
Sean resides with his wife Katie in Philadelphia, PA and have two boys, Kevin, and Ryan 11.
