Involved in coaching since 2008, Wessel is a new member of the DelVal men's basketball staff.

Wessel has spent the last seven years at his high school alma mater, Abington Friends School. In 2013, the squad won the Friends League Championship while Wessel also led the junior varsity unit to a title.

Wessel was a walk-on on the Goucher College men's basketball team for the 2003-04 campaign. He graduated from the institution in 2007 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications. He then erned his Master's in social work from Temple University.
