DeLucia enters his 14th season on his alma mater’s coaching staff and his 11th as a full-time assistant after moving up from the intern ranks. In 2016, he was promoted to co-defensive coordinator while still working with the defensive line. Since taking over the defensive duties, he has seen 33 players named to the all-MAC team, two conference defensive players of the year, one all-east region defensive player of the year, five all-americans, and six all-region players.
The 2019 Aggie defense was once again ranked among the top units in all of Division III under DeLucia. They finished the season ranked seventh in scoring defense (12.8 ppg) and second in total defense (215.2 ypg), and ranked inside the top-10 in four other categories. The squad picked of 24 passes, the second most in the nation, recovered seven fumbles, and got to opposing quarterbacks for 45 sacks. Individually, three defensive players earned All-Region and All-American honors and a total of nine players earned all-MAC accolades. For the second year in a row Michael Nobile was named the MAC Defensive Player of the Year and an All-American, and he took home East Region Defensive Player of the Year honors for the first time.
In 2018, DeLucia's unit allowed just 13.8 points and 152 yards per game to opposing offenses. They surrendered just two yards per rushing attempt and a total of 72 rush yards per showing. Defensive end Michael Nobile was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, one of seven defensive players to be named to the all-conference team. Nobile and his twin brother Anthony represented the defensive unit on the all-east region team and Michael went on to earn All-American honors from two different publications.
DeLucia's defensive unit was dominant in 2017 as DelVal won the MAC and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals. The defense allowed just 10.5 points and 262.8 yards per game while forcing a total of 33 turnovers. Nine players from the defense were named to the all-conference team, including Shawn Miller who was later selected to a pair of All-America teams.
In his first season as a co-coordinator, DeLuci's defense permitted just 14.5 points and 268.3 yards per game. Eight players on the defensive side of the ball, including two linemen, earned all-conference honors.
After a year on the Delaware Valley roster, DeLucia spent the 2003, 2004 and 2005 campaigns as a student assistant with the Aggies. He became a coaching intern after graduation and served as a defensive assistant during the next two campaigns.
DeLucia worked with the defensive front seven in 2008 before moving to the line. Eleven players have earned all-conference accolades during that time, including 2010 All-American Mike Jaskowski.
DeLucia also spent time as the co-special teams coordinator and kicker/punter Brandon Snyder was a three-time all-conference pick from 2012 to 2014.
DeLucia graduated from the institution in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree in sports management.
