A former NBA referee legend who also has years of college football coaching experience, Rush joins the DelVal staff in 2018. He will work with the kickers and also serve as a special teams assistant.
Rush spent two different stints as a coach at Division II Bloomsburg University, including the last two seasons where he worked with the first-team all-conference placekicker. In his first stint with the Huskies, Rush's tutelage helped a Bloomsburg kicker notch 20 field goal in one season and he went onto finish his career with 57 field goals. Rush also coached an All-American running back during his time.Â
Rush worked for 38 seasons with the NBA. He served as an official from 1966 to 1998, officiating more than 2,000 games including All-Star games. In 1998, he joined the NBA Basketball Operations department as the NBA/WNBA Director of Officiating.
Rush is a graduate of West Chester University where he played varsity football. He received an Honorary Alumnus Award from Bloomsburg University in 2014. He is also the founder and coordinator of Court Club Success System for Basketball Officials - an online training court for basketball officials worldwide.
