Ed Lynett

Ed Lynett was named the new defensive coordinator at Delaware Valley after the 2014 season. The '14 campaign was his first with the Aggies as he worked with the linebackers and helped the squad qualify for the NCAAs.

Prior to Delaware Valley was at nearby Ursinus College where he spent three seasons as the Bears’ defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator. He coached 11 all-Centennial Conference honorees and one Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year during his stint.

Prior to that role, Lynett spent one season each with Division II East Stroudsburg University, Division I Bucknell University and Division I Sacred Heart University where he held various defensive coaching positions.

From 2005 to 2008, Lynett was the defensive coordinator at Iona College where he boasted one of the top defenses in the old NCAA Division I-AA (now Division I FCS). He coached 16 all-conference players including two mid-major All Americans.

Lynett was also an assistant defensive line coach at Division I-AA Lehigh University from 2003 to 2005 and a defensive graduate assistant at Colorado State University from 2000 to 2003.

Lynett played his collegiate ball at Fordham University where he was a three-year letterwinner at both running back and defensive back. He received a bachelor of science degree in marketing/managerial accounting from Fordham in 1992 and later earned his master’s from Colorado State University in 2002.
