Diehl joined the Aggies coaching staff prior to the 2019 season. She graduated from Roanoke College in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in pre-dentistry studies and she was a four-year starter for the Maroon's field hockey team.

During her career she played in 67 games with 64 starts and totaled 39 points on 17 goals and five assists including five game-winning tallies. In 2016, she was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Confernece All-Academic Team. During her time, the team went 48-23 and made it to the conference playoffs every year.
