Carol Di Girolamo has taken a new role as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator following the 2022 field hockey season. Di Girolamo spent 16 seasons as the Delaware Valley Field Hockey head coach and 22 seasons her total career as a head coach. 

The longest tenured coach in program history, Di Girolamo is also the program's all-time leader in victories with 119. The team has made five Freedom Conference (now MAC Freedom) tournament appearances and one ECAC semifinal during her tenure. She also serves as the department's Senior Women's Administrator. 

Di Girolamo and her squad had the most successful season in program history in 2013 as the Aggies won a school-record 13 games and captured the top seed in the Freedom Conference tournament. They hosted a playoff game for the first time and it was an overtime semifinal battle. DelVal was then selected for the ECAC tournament for the first time and the squad pulled off a road upset in the quarterfinals before falling in the semis. Di Girolamo was named the Freedom Coach of the Year and five players were named to the all-conference team.

Di Girolamo's first campaign with the Aggies also saw her earn Freedom Conference Coach of the Year honors. She led the '06 Aggies, who were picked to finish last in the conference in a preseason coaches' poll, to a 10-9 overall record and a Freedom tournament berth. 

In 2007, DelVal broke or tied 19 team and individual records, including wins in a season where it went 12-8 overall to match the top mark. The Aggies finished in a three-way tie for third place but missed out on the four-team conference playoff due to a tiebreaker. The '08 campaign saw the team go 10-10 overall for a fourth consecutive non-losing season.

In 2009, the Aggies were picked sixth in the preseason poll, but instead finished in the top four to qualify for the Freedom tournament. They went to nationally-ranked Eastern University for the semifinals and forced overtime before falling to the eventual conference champions. The team finished with a 10-10 mark and had the conference Player of the Year in Bethany Pavlilk.

The 2010 campaign saw DelVal go 10-10 and make a return trip to the Freedom semifinals where it once again ran into eighth-ranked and eventual champion Eastern. Two years later, DelVal began the year 3-0 in Freedom play and stood atop the standings that late in a year for the first time in program history. The Aggies reached the conference tournament and fell in the semifinals.  

Di Girolamo came to DelVal following a six-year stint at Neumann College. She served as head coach for both the field hockey and lacrosse programs at Neumann and was also an assistant director of athletics and senior women's administrator.

Di Girolamo notched 37 wins and a pair of Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoff appearances during her tenure as head field hockey coach at Neumann. She led the 2001 squad to their first-ever tournament appearance. In 2005, the Knights returned to the postseason and upset No. 3 seed Wesley College in the first round for the program's first PAC playoff win. They fell to the eventual champion in the semifinals.t

During her field hockey playing career, Di Girolamo was a four-year starter and two-year captain for Alvernia College. She earned numerous accolades including team Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors as well as all-PAC honors.

Di Girolamo graduated from Alvernia with a bachelor's degree in history in 1998. Two years later, she earned her master's degree in sports administration from Temple University.
