The younger brother of head coach Bob Altieri and a member of the Delaware Valley University Hall of Fame, Matt has been part of the coaching staff over the last 18 years after a career that ranks him among the best to ever put on an Aggie uniform.

Altieri was three-time MAC-Freedom League first team all-star and capped it all off by being named the league’s Most Valuable Player in 1998. He also earned a spot on the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region All-Star Team.

Altieri owned or shared numerous DelVal records at the time of graduation and is still the all-time leader in both runs (151) and stolen bases (102). His .400 career batting average currently ranks fifth in school history. Altieri is also in the NCAA Division III record books as his .903 stolen base percentage ranks 16th on the all-time list.

Altieri was also a two-time all-star as a wide receiver for the Aggie football team. He graduated in 2000 with a degree in accounting and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2005.
