About Men's Soccer

The Aggie men's soccer program is now under the leadership of 2006 alumnus Chris Zirpoli. Zirpoli was a goalkeeper for the Aggies and still holds the record for saves in a game. "Zip" took over the program on a part-time basis prior to the 2017 campaign and was elevated to full-time head coach in 2018.

In 2018 Zirpoli's squad earned the United Soccer Coaches team academic award for maintaining a team GPA above 3.0. Since taking over the program, 28 individual student-athletes have earned a spot on the MAC Academic Honor Roll.

Last season, senior Austin Daniels had one of the best offensive showings in the MAC Freedom. His nine goals and three game-winners ranked tied for first and his 20 points this season was second in the league. He also recorded more shots on goal than any player in the MAC Freedom (23). During conference play he notched three goals and six points.

The program has been in existence since 1976. In 2001, the team - behind the stellar play of three all-conference honorees - jumped out to a 4-0 start in the Freedom Conference and qualified for the conference playoffs for the first time in school history.
