WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Delaware Valley women's soccer fell to Penn College Tech, 5-0, on Friday afternoon.
Dekota Barthold was tested early before
Jarleny Aguilar-Acuna took the ball down the field and banked her shot off the crossbar. An Aggie was then called offsides on the rebound. Barthold made two more saves before Kurian put the Wildcats on the board in the 10th minute. Barthold then made consecutive saves on corner kicks, but Penn College Tech found the back of the net again in the 32nd minute, with Kurian scoring once again. Before time expired, Barthold made eight saves over her 45 minutes of action.
Jenelle Frye entered in goal for the Aggies and made an early stop before Kurian completed the hat trick in the 56th minute. Two more Wildcat goals followed, with
Alexa DelGiudice receiving a yellow card in between. Aguilar-Acuna and
Jazmine Venegas each got shots off but were unable to find the net as Penn College Tech secured the 5-0 victory.
Following the loss, the Aggies fall to 1-1-0 on the young season. DelVal returns home to host Cedar Crest College on Wednesday, September 9, at 4 p.m.
