MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Delaware Valley baseball run-ruled The University of Olivet 12-2 to close out its 2026 spring break trip on Wednesday morning.
With two on and two outs in the top of the first, Andrew Cullinan struck out Parten swinging to escape the inning. In the bottom half, Kody Boyer and Liam Martin both walked before Nathan Fisher reached on an error to load the bases. Matteo Viola also reached on an error by the same Olivet fielder, allowing Martin to score. Jared Ecenroad followed with a sacrifice fly to bring home Fisher and give the Aggies a 2-0 lead.
In the third, Viola and Ecenroad were both hit by pitches before John Dzielawa walked to load the bases. Nate Ludwick ripped a double to score two runs and Daniel Murphy followed with an RBI to extend the Aggies' lead.
Landon Bietz came on in relief in the fourth and tossed two strong innings, striking out four while also catching a runner stealing. Bietz earned the win after allowing no runs across his outing.
DelVal added to its lead in the fifth. Taylor McKeta and Ludwick came around to score when Martin singled to the outfield, and Fisher followed with another outfield single that plated two more runs to push the advantage to 8-0.
In the sixth, McKeta was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to force in a run before a wild pitch scored another. Martin later delivered again with a two-run single, finishing the day with four RBIs.
Olivet plated two runs in the seventh but could not get within the margin needed to extend the game, giving the Aggies the 12-2 win via the ten-run rule.
With the victory, Delaware Valley improves to 6-4 overall and will open conference play on Friday, March 13 at Misericordia.
