Mens's soccer battle to a dramatic 2-2 draw battling Arcadia

DOYLESTOWN, Pa- Delaware Valley university and Arcadia University played a thrilling 2-2 draw after a dramatic finish in which all four goals were scored in the final seven minutes of regulation.

The first half was largely controlled by Delaware Valley, which created several scoring opportunities and kept pressure on the Arcadia defense. The Aggies tested goalkeeper Heidorn early, with Amos Debah putting a shot on target in the second minute. Delaware Valley continued to generate chances throughout the half, including attempts by Shane Connaghan, Zydan Stewart, Roy Hevener, and Nathan Congdon. Despite the offensive pressure, Arcadia's defense held firm. Arcadia's best first half opportunity came just before the break, when LoBiondo forced a save from Delaware Valley goalkeeper Nick Becker in the 45th minute, sending the teams into halftime scoreless at 0-0.

The second half featured more opportunities for both sides, with Arcadia gradually creating dangerous chances of its own. Becker made important saves on attempts from Jordan and Perry as the Knights looked to break the deadlock. After a physical stretch that included several fouls and yellow cards from Josh Difillipo, Karl Kowula, and Watkins in the 59th minute, Scott in the 62nd minute, Derian Wubbenhorst in the 72nd minute, and Whitmore and Murray in the 89th minute, the match finally came to life late in the second half.

Arcadia broke through in the 84th minute when Jordan scored to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Delaware Valley responded in the 87th minute as Karl Kowula found the back of the net off an assist from Debah to level the score 1-1. The Knights regained the advantage in the 89th minute when LoBindo scored off a pass from Murray, putting Arcadia ahead 2-1 with seconds remaining.

However, Delaware Valley refused to give up. With the clock approaching 90 minutes, Brandin Rawlins scored the equalizer off an assist from Roy Hevener at 89:59, completing a remarkable late comeback and securing the 2-2 draw.

The Aggies are back at home Saturday October 24th at 6:00 p.m. against Lebanon Valley College.
