The Game

The Delaware Valley University football team (2-1, 1-0 MAC) looks to extend its conference winning streak as it returns home to Doylestown to host Middle Atlantic Conference foe Lebanon Valley College (2-1, 2-0 MAC) on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. inside James Work Memorial Stadium.

The Aggies hold a 29-12 all-time record against the Flying Dutchmen, dating back to 1965. DelVal has won the last 10 meetings, with its last loss coming in 2012 — a 34-31 overtime thriller. In last year's matchup in Annville, the Aggies led 21-16 before Darius Nichols sealed the win with a late fumble recovery at his own 25-yard line.

Last Time Out
  • Sept. 20: Delaware Valley at Albright – W, 35-28
  • Sept. 20: Lebanon Valley vs. Eastern – W, 24-21
Storylines and Notes
  • DelVal's win over Albright came down to the final play, with DB Micah Bootman breaking up a pass in the end zone to preserve the victory and improve the Aggies to 2-0 in MAC play.
  • It was a battle of the league's top quarterbacks: Albright's Chase Roberts threw for 324 yards, but DelVal's Mike Galasso countered with 238 yards and accounted for four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing).
  • The Aggie offensive line continues to shine, not allowing Galasso to be sacked for the second straight week. They'll face LVC's Luke Ordway, the only Flying Dutchman to record a sack this season.
  • DelVal posted a balanced attack at Albright, rushing for 140 yards and passing for 238. Justin Brown led the backfield with 59 yards on nine carries, while Brady Beres (47 yards on eight attempts) and Jerimya Paula (eight yards on four carries) also contributed.
  • Gavin Migliori led the receiving corps again, hauling in six receptions for 129 yards and a touchdown. He ranks second in the MAC with 287 receiving yards. Alvaro Lora returned from a preseason injury, adding three catches for 40 yards and a score.
  • Jeremiah Clark continues to pace the MAC in tackles, leading the conference in solo (15), assisted (27), and total stops (42). He once again led the Aggies in all three categories at Albright.
  • Thomas Arcaroli, the league leader in sacks, added another in the win and also recovered a fumble.
  • This week, Clark and Arcaroli will look to slow down LVC QB Logan Klitch, fresh off a MAC Offensive Player of the Week honor after leading a second-half comeback against Eastern. Klitch finished with 274 total yards and two touchdowns, while K Brian Dym (MAC Special Teams Player of the Week) nailed a game-winning 22-yard field goal as time expired.
  • The Flying Dutchmen also feature one of the MAC's top running backs in Dion Bryant, who ranks second in the league with 348 yards on 58 carries (116 yards per game).
