BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Delaware Valley men's golf placed sixth out of eight teams at the Moravian Weyhill Classic on Monday afternoon.
The tournament was played at Saucon Valley Country Club's Weyhill Course, a par-72 layout stretching 7,099 yards. The Aggies carded a 343 (+55) as a team, finishing seven strokes ahead of MAC Freedom rival Misericordia. Albright College captured the team title with a 308 (+20).
Jack Brennan paced DelVal with an 82 (+10), good for a tie for 17th in the 45-player field. Brennan opened strong with a 38 on the front nine, highlighted by six pars and a birdie on the ninth.
Tying for 26th overall were
Patrick Taylor and newcomer
Trent Parkhurst, each posting an 86 (+14). Parkhurst birdied the second and ninth en route to a 40 on the front, while Taylor carded a 41 on the back nine and added a birdie at the 10th.
Daniel McColgan rounded out the team scoring with an 89 (+17). After struggling to a 47 on the front, he shaved five strokes off on the back nine.
Mason Henne was the drop score, finishing with a 101 (+29).
The Aggies return to action on Tuesday, September 23, at the Lions Fall Invitational, hosted at Northampton Country Club.
