Golf Finishes Fifth at Conquer The Island Invitational

| By:
SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. – Jack Brennan led the Delaware Valley men's golf team to a tie for fifth place at the Conquer the Island Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.

The Aggies posted a season-best team score of 324 (+36) in challenging conditions at Shawnee Golf Course, a par-72 layout stretching 6,725 yards. Drew University claimed the team title with a 299 (+11), the only squad to finish under 300. Stevens Institute of Technology topped the MAC competitors, a key preview as the conference returns to this course in just over two weeks for the MAC Freedom Championships.

Brennan tied for fifth individually out of 81 golfers, carding a 76 (+4) with 12 pars and a birdie—an impressive showing on a blustery day with wind gusts reaching 40 mph.

Senior Nick Lienhard recorded his best finish of the season, tying for 16th with a 79 (+7). He birdied hole 15 and closed strong with pars on the final three holes.

Greg Gipe notched a team-high three birdies—on holes 11, 12, and 15—on his way to an 84 (+12), while Daniel McColgan contributed an 85 (+13), just one shot behind.

Lucas Baldinger rounded out the Aggie lineup with a season-best 87 (+15), highlighted by birdies on the par-five 6th and 15th holes.

Full results can be viewed here.

The team is off for the rest of the week and returns to action on Monday, April 21, at the Muhlenberg Spring Invitational, held at Lehigh Country Club.
