Men's Basketball Dominates FDU-Florham, Winning 76-51

MADISON, N.J. – After a four-game losing streak, the Delaware Valley men's basketball team dominated FDU-Florham, 76-51, on Wednesday night, with Antonio Redding leading the charge by scoring 24 points.

A pair of early turnovers allowed Redding to score the first basket of the game. Kamal Johnson followed up with two three-pointers, putting the Aggies ahead 8-2 in the opening three minutes. Redding then scored the next eight points for DelVal, and Miles Demby added a three-pointer to give the Aggies a 17-point lead. Jordan Gombs also got in on the action, scoring two layups, while the DelVal defense held the Devils to just 11 points in the first ten minutes.

Adam Zieger ended a two-minute scoring drought for FDU, and James Zingaro added six points to help the Devils close the gap to eight. However, Redding scored a layup for his 14th point of the half, sending the teams into the locker room with the Aggies leading 35-26.

Jake McGinty opened the second half with a three-pointer to spark a 7-0 run. Five minutes later, Redding and Demby both drained threes to extend the lead to 20 points. Zoelin Pair got on the scoresheet with a layup, followed by another three from Redding and a three-pointer by Ryan Everett. The Devils endured another two-minute scoreless stretch before Noah Pagan ended it with a basket. With 5:30 remaining, Gombs was fouled and converted a three-point play, and Demby hit another three-pointer to push the Aggies' lead to 30, 72-42.

FDU closed the game on a 9-2 run, but their late surge never threatened the Aggies' advantage.

Redding, Demby, Johnson, and Gombs all finished in double figures, while McGinty and Pair led the team with seven rebounds each. As a team, the Aggies shot 55.2% from the field and 45.5% from beyond the arc.

With the win, the Aggies improve to 9-11 overall and 4-5 in the MAC Freedom. They will next face Lebanon Valley this Saturday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m.
