DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball team battled through four tight quarters and delivered late to earn a 57–54 victory over Lancaster Bible on Tuesday afternoon at James Work Gymnasium.
DelVal set the tone early with strong interior play from Alexis Wright and a layup from Whitney Evans to build a quick 6–0 lead. Lancaster Bible responded late in the quarter, evening the score at 14–14.
The second quarter featured several lead changes before the Aggies closed the half on a high note, as Evans converted a layup in the final 23 seconds to give DelVal a 25–24 halftime advantage.
Momentum continued to swing in the third, with the Chargers' Shania Stoltzfus knocking down timely three-pointers, but Wright and Evans were ready for the response attacking the paint to push the Aggies to a 42-40 lead headed into the final period.
