DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team led Arcadia by as many as five to start the second half but struggled to maintain its edge ultimately dropping the contest 73-61 on Saturday afternoon.
 
DelVal falls to 2-13 on the season and 0-4 in MAC Freedom play. The Knights improve to 9-6 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
 
Key three pointers from Arcadia put the Aggies behind early, 6-0. 
Jayla Rivera put up the first points for the Aggies, but the Knights maintained their edge with a 6-2 run extending their lead to eight, 12-4. 
Alexis Wright began the comeback effort with a solo 5-2 run through the end of the first quarter to cut the deficit down to five, 14-9.
 
The momentum continued to swing in favor of the Aggies with a three-pointer from 
Aubrey Ennis capping off a 6-2 to start the second quarter and bring DelVal within a single point of evening the score, 16-15. Foul trouble put the Knights back on top, but Wright answered the call sinking the long ball to tie the score, 18-18, with 8:04 to play. Arcadia pulled ahead by a small margin twice when a layup from 
Haley Keenan turned the tides and set DelVal off on a 12-5 run, led by Wright with seven points, to end the half with a three-point lead, 32-29.
 
Keenan kicked off the scoring in the second half with the layup to put DelVal ahead by five, 34-29. The threes continued to fall in favor of the Knights with an 8-0 run to change the lead. Rivera stepped up from deep to even the score, 37-37, but Arcadia found its groove with a 9-2 spurt to take a seven-point lead, 46-39, with 5:02 left in the frame. Trailing by six with three minutes to play, 
Ava Irizarry converted the three followed by a layup from Wright to bring the Aggies back within a single point, 47-46. The Knights recorded the last two scores of the frame to take a four-point lead into the final quarter, 50-46.
 
DelVal struggled to get a scoring run together through the first four 3:30 leaving Arcadia to rack up a 10-point lead. 
Ciana Feliciano sunk the three-pointer to start the Aggies on an 8-2 run to make it a two-basket game, 62-58, with 3:37 on the clock. Arcadia finished strong with an 11-3 run to claim the final 73-61 victory.
 
Wright led the Aggies in scoring with 23 points. Rivera and Keenan also scored in double-digits with 11 points apiece. Wright led the battle at the boards pulling down nine rebounds. Keenan tallied four steals in the game.
 
The Aggies' next game is Wednesday January 22
nd at 6pm where they will host Kings on their home court.
