Aggies Dominate in 1-0 Victory, Extending Undefeated Streak to 3-0

READING, Pa. - The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team extended their undefeated streak to 3-0 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Penn State Berks Nittany Lions.

The Aggies' offense made an immediate impact, with Roy Hevener delivering a corner kick in the opening minute. The early moments were marked by intense back-and-forth play, but the Aggies kept the pressure on with three consecutive shots. Andrew Grunwald's attempt was narrowly saved by Nittany Lions goalkeeper Ethan Brazier, followed by Jacob Luciani's shot that deflected off a defender. Pepijn Middel's effort went wide, but the Aggies persisted. The Nittany Lions managed two attempts from Caleb Fatkin and Nicolas Harrison, but DelVal's defense held firm. The breakthrough came when Andrew Grunwald's precise pass found Prince Mugisha, who calmly finished to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead. DelVal dominated the first half, outshooting their opponents 11-5.

The Aggies continued their offensive push into the second half, with Ernort George II testing Brazier with an early shot. Penn State Berks' Terridine Grant received the game's first yellow card following a foul on an Aggie player. Rourke Watson had a chance to increase the lead with a high shot from another Hevener corner, but it went over the bar. The match then saw a ten-minute period marked by fouls and offside calls. Ernort rose for a header attempt that sailed too high. In the 25th minute, George II earned the Aggies' first yellow card, but the team remained aggressive. Despite their efforts, including three more shots all saved by Brazier, the Aggies managed to secure the win. They outshot Penn State Berks 17-6, maintaining their perfect record at 3-0.

The Aggies will next face Bryn Athyn on Monday, September 9th at 7 p.m., aiming to continue their undefeated streak.
