Aggies Drop Road Match at Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's volleyball team struggled to get a solid scoring run going through three sets, dropping the match to Lancaster Bible 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Lancaster Bible took a 13-8 lead with the Aggies securing all eight points from errors to start the first set. Grace Kane recorded the first kill for DelVal to cut the deficit to four, 13-9, but the Chargers were quick to respond with a 4-0 spurt. The Aggies offense picked up with Cassandra Gloster and Grace Kane combining for four of DelVal's next 10 points ending the set with a 25-19 loss.

DelVal trailed by four points early in the set, unable to get closer than three until a service ace from Emma Helverson started a 3-1 run to make it 10-7. The Chargers answered back with a 9-2 run expanding their lead to 10, 19-9. LBC held together the 8-6 edge through the rest of the set for the 25-17 win.

A kill from Gretta Schneider put up the first point in the third set. The Chargers followed up with eight unanswered until Schneider silenced the run with another kill to cut the deficit to six, 8-2. Schneider continued to dominate the Aggies offense, tallying two of DelVal's six points during a Chargers' 13-6 run bringing the score to 22-8. A kill from Helverson and a service ace from Schneider put up the last two points for the Aggies, dropping the set 25-10.

Schneider led the team in kills with eight while Kane dominated the defensive side of the ball with 15 digs.
