PREVIEW: Football Looks to Continue Hot Start at Stevenson

The Delaware Valley football team (2-0, 1-0 MAC) travels to Owings Mills, Md., to take on the Stevenson University Mustangs (0-2, 0-1 MAC) this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Mustang Stadium.

The Aggies have won their last six matchups against the Mustangs and hold an impressive 11-1 overall record against them since 2011. Their only loss came in 2016 when DelVal was shut out 19-0. Last year, the Aggies secured a 21-14 victory, highlighted by a dramatic 71-yard touchdown reception by Luan Avdijaj with just 49 seconds remaining. Avdijaj also opened the scoring in that game with a 68-yard touchdown on the second play.

Notes/Storylines
  • DelVal football extended its conference win streak to 54 with last week's victory over Alvernia.

  • Quarterback Louie Barrios IV connected with Nahsir Morgan for an 80-yard touchdown on the first offensive snap, mirroring their week one performance against Hampden-Sydney. Barrios completed 12 of 18 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns, while Nick Arcaroli went 2 of 4 for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Jack Fallon rushed for 115 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown, while Deshawn Wiggins added 54 yards on eight attempts. Fallon currently leads the conference with an average of 89.5 rushing yards per game.
  • Morgan topped the receiving corps with 88 yards on three catches, followed closely by Avdijaj and Alvaro Lora.
  • Shaun Balkcom was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording three sacks, two of which forced fumbles, and recovering one. The senior finished with five total tackles, helping the DelVal defense limit Alvernia to just 117 total yards.
  • Stevenson's only score last week came in the second quarter, with Landon Winterbottom connecting on a 1-yard touchdown pass to Deion Richardson, bringing the halftime score to 20-7. Sophomore Winterbottom has thrown for 238 yards, two touchdowns, and four interceptions this season.
  • Ranking fourth in the MAC, Deion Richardson has recorded seven catches for 182 yards and three touchdowns for the Mustangs.
