DOYLESTOWN, PA.- The Delaware Valley Softball traveled to Immaculata to face off against the Mighty Macs in a non conference showdown on Thursday, April 25th. The Aggies come into today's matchup with a record of 16-16 coming off a doubleheader series split against PSU Brandywine. Delaware Valley would go on to split the doubleheader with an 8-5 win and a 3-2 loss.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game one is Madison Karns.
Delaware Valley would take a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st as Madison Donnelly would hit an RBI single through the left side to score Jillian Collins. The Aggies would then go up 2-0 with a Tori Bockrath sacrifice fly scoring Kenzie Boyd. DelVal would tack on one more run as Amelia Funston would hit an RBI single to score Madison Donnelly.
DelVal would take a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Jillian Ulozas hit a home run to deep left field. Later in the inning, Sierra Ripka would score on a wild pitch to make it a 5-0 ballgame. Angelina Bresnen would knock in an RBI single to score Donnelly as Delaware Valley extended their lead to 6-0.
The Aggies offense continued their strong performance in the 3rd inning with a two-run RBI double from Sierra Ripka. Delaware Valley would take an 8-0 lead through three innings.
Entering the game in the 4th inning for Delaware Valley in the circle was Alyssa Scansaroli.
Immaculata would score two runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to make it 8-2.
Despite a three-run bottom-of-the-7th rally from the Mighty Macs, Delaware Valley would hold on and take an 8-5 game one win.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game two is Kenzie Boyd
Amelia Funston would hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 2nd to take a 1-0 lead. Delaware Valley would extend their lead later in the inning. Kenzie Boyd would then make it 2-0 with an RBI single to score Jillian Collins.
After three scoreless innings, Immaculata would tie up the game with an RBI single to make it 2-2. The Mighty Macs would then take the lead later in the inning to make it 3-2.
In the 6th inning, Madison Karns would enter the game in relief in the circle for Boyd.
The Aggies offense was not able to respond and Immaculata would take game two by a score of 3-2.
DelVal softball moves to 17-17 the season and ends the season with a record of 11-9 in non conference play.
The Aggies will be back in action on Saturday, April 27th, when they travel to FDU Florham to face off against the Devils in a game with MAC playoff implications.
