MADISON, NJ.- Delaware Valley softball went on the road to face off against the Devils of FDU Florham in the 2024 regular season finale. Delaware Valley entered today's conference doubleheader with a record of 17-17 and a record of 5-7 in conference. If the Aggies were able to pick up two wins against the Devils, they would clinch the final spot in the MAC Freedom playoffs. Delaware Valley would win game one by a score of 5-0 and drop game two 7-2.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game one is Madison Karns.
In the top of the 3rd inning, the Aggies would have the bases loaded with two outs. Angelina Bresnen came through for DelVal and hit a bases-clearing double to give Delaware Valley a 3-0 lead.
Tori Bockrath extended the Aggies lead to 5-0 in the top of the 5th inning with a two-run RBI double.
The Aggies would hold on as Delaware Valley would take the pivotal game one by a score of 5-0.
Madison Karns finishes the game with a complete game shutout with only four hits allowed and three total strikeouts.
Kenzie Boyd, Madison Donnelly, Angelina Bresnen, and Tori Bockrath all contributed multi-hit games for the Aggies.

FDU scored first and took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning.
The Aggies tied up the game in the top of the 3rd with an RBI double from Angelina Bresnen. In the bottom half of the inning, FDU hit a two-run RBI double to take a 3-1 lead.
FDU extended their lead in the top of the 4th inning with an RBI single to take a 4-1 lead.
The Devils would score three runs in the bottom of the 5th and take a 7-1 lead.
With the season on the line, Amelia Funston hit an RBI single in the top of the 7th to make it a 7-2 ballgame.
FDU held on and took game two of the doubleheader by a score of 7-2.
Delaware Valley's 18 wins this season marks the first time since 2008 and only the second time since 1980 that the Aggies have recorded at least 18 wins in a single season.
The Aggies would finish the 2024 regular season with a record of 18-18 with a conference record of 6-8.
