DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's lacrosse team fell into an early deficit to start the first quarter and couldn't come back dropping the contest to Stevens IT 25-1 to end the 2024 season on Wednesday night.
Stevens put together 12 goals in the first 21 minutes of the game. With a running clock and nine minutes still to play in the second quarter,
Ashley Birmingham won the draw for the Aggies. The senior turned on the heat bringing the ball nearly 40 yards to about five yards out from the goal firing the shot past the goal to put DelVal on the board, 12-1.
The Ducks went on to hold the Aggies scoreless through the remainder of the game while putting up 13 more goals for the 25-1 victory.
Birmingham led the Aggies in shots with four.
Samantha McCurry and
Alyssa Rudd led the team in ground balls with three apiece.
Emily Drake played all 60 minutes in the net making eight saves.
Delaware Valley finishes out the season with a 5-11 overall record and a 1-6 record in MAC Freedom play.
