Doylestown, PA.- The Delaware Valley Softball team hosted the Falcons of Cedar Crest in a non-conference showdown on Tuesday, April 16th at the DVU Softball Field. The Aggies come into today's match up with a record of 12-12 coming off a doubleheader series split against Arcadia. Cedar Crest comes into today's match up with a record of 2-16 coming off a conference doubleheader series split against Cairn. Delaware Valley would go on to sweep Cedar Crest by winning game one 10-0 and game two 5-0.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game one is
Madison Karns.
Delaware Valley would start the scoring in the bottom of the 1st inning with an RBI single from
Angelina Bresnen to give DelVal a 1-0 lead early.
The Aggies scored four runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take a 6-0 lead with RBIs from
Tori Bockrath,
Madison Karns, and
Ally Byrne
The Aggies would go on to score four runs in the bottom of the 4th with RBIs from
Tori Bockrath,
Madison Donnelly, and
Bailey Smith to take a 10-0 lead.
Madison Karns would shut things down in the top of the 5th and Delaware Valley would take game one by a score of 10-0, Karns finished the game with 5IP, 2H, 0 ER, and 0 BB, while totaling nine strikeouts.

Kenzie Boyd
Yasmine Gonzalez would hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 2nd inning to give Delaware Valley a 1-0 lead early.
Madison Donnelly would notch an RB single for the Aggies to take a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning.
DelVal would extend their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the inning with a two-out triple from
Sierra Ripka followed by an RBI double from
Angelina Bresnen. Later in the inning, two errors committed by Cedar Crest would then give DelVal a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the 5th inning,
Madison Donnelly would blast a double off the right field wall to extend the Aggies lead to 5-0.
Kenzie Boyd would close things out in the circle for DelVal, as the Aggies would go on to game one by a score of 5-0.Â
Boyd finished the game with 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, and 1 BB while totaling five strikeouts.
Delaware Valley would improve their season record to 14-12 and non-conference record to 8-6. The Aggies will be back in action on Thursday, April 18th, against the Cyclones of Centenary in a home non conference doubleheader.
