GLENSIDE, PA- Delaware Valley softball went on the road to face off against Arcadia in a MAC Conference doubleheader. The Aggies and the Knights went on to split the series as Arcadia won game one and Delaware Valley won game two.
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game number one was
Madison Karns.
The Knights' offense would start the scoring early with a sacrifice fly to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning.Â
After a scoreless second inning, Arcadia would score three runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning on four base hits to take a 4-0 lead.Â
The Aggies would get on the board in the top half of the 4th inning as
Trista Hershey would score
Madison Donnelly on an RBI single to center field.
Arcadia would score two important insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to extend their lead to 6-1.
Amelia Funston would hit an RBI single through the left side to score
Angelina Bresnen in the top of the 7th inning to cut the deficit to 6-2. Arcadia would hold on to take game one of the MAC doubleheader.Â
Pitching for Delaware Valley in game number one was
Kenzie Boyd.
After two scoreless innings,
Tori Bockrath would hit a two-run RBI double to score
Sierra Ripka and
Angelina Bresnen to give the Aggies the lead in the top of the 3rd inning.Â
Through four completed innings of play, Delaware Valley would lead 2-0 as
Kenzie Boyd and the Aggies defense have yet to allow a run.
After a scoreless 5th and 6th inning, the Aggies would enter the final inning with a two-run lead.Â
Delaware Valley would get an important insurance run in the top of the 7th inning as Angelena Bresnen would notch an RBI single to score
Jillian Collins to take a 3-0 lead.Â
Kenzie Boyd would go on to throw a complete game shutout out and the Aggies would go on to win game two
Kenzie Boyd finished the game in the circle with a stat line of 7IP, 0 ER, 4H, 0BB. The Aggies move to 12-12 on the season and 5-5 in MACÂ Conference play
DelVal softball will be back in action on Tuesday, April 16th at home against Cedar Crest.
