Aggies Fall to Immaculata, Rained Out After 7

Immaculata, Pa. - The Delaware Valley baseball team dropped their first road game of 2024 to Immaculata University 8-3 in a rain-shorted game on Tuesday afternoon.  

In the opening inning, Jonathan Drews singled, Hank Bielen doubled to get the first base runners. Evan Scally drove in Drew win a single out to center field. The Mighty Mac answered after a runner found third on a wild pitch and then eventually scoring, knotting the game at 1-1. 

With runners on the corners for the Aggies in the fourth, B Ramos was picked off at first to end the inning. Connor Esbenshade started on the mound for the Aggies throwing 4.0 innings, giving up a lone hit.

Immaculata took the lead in the fifth after a balk was called to move the base runner to third. It was followed by a single out to right field, scoring the runner.  

Four more Mighty Macs found home plate in the bottom of the sixth, extending the lead 6-1. 

In the seventh, Jared Ecenroad hit a single to left which moved Blake Ramos to third who was hit by a pitcher. After Ecenroad got to second on a wild pitch, Liam Martin also singled to left scoring both Ramos and Ecenroad, Immaculata still up by three runs. The Mighty Macs scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning before the game was called due to rain.  

Following the loss, the Aggies move to 2-1 on the season and will next travel to Vero Beach, Fla. Where they will play seven games over six days.
