DelVal Falls On The Road At Stevens

HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team came from behind early to gain a single-point advantage over Stevens in the first quarter, but 22 unanswered points from the Ducks gave them an advantage the Aggies couldn't overcome falling on the road 72-61.
 
Trailing by four to start, Alexis Wright stepped up to the line to start the Aggies on a 7-2 run to take a single-point lead, 7-6, just over three minutes into the first quarter. The Ducks stuffed DelVal's scoring with a 16-0 run to end the frame with a 22-7 lead.
 
Stevens started the second quarter extending its run to 22 consecutive points before Maisie Neuber and Ciana Feliciano combine for four unanswered to cut the deficit down to 17, 28-11. The Ducks began to pull away again with a 5-0 run ended by Kendra Rigo with the three-pointer to start an 12-5 comeback run cutting the gap to just 15 at the half, 38-23.
 
Haley Keenan took a trip to the line putting up the first points of the second half continuing to chip away at the deficit, 38-25. DelVal followed up with the 8-4 advantage through the next seven minutes to bring the deficit down to single-digits, 42-33, with two minutes left in the frame. The Ducks hurried with an 8-5 run to increase their lead to 12 but Keenan converted the layup in the final seconds to keep the deficit to 10 at the end of the third quarter, 50-40.
 
The Ducks started the final 10 minutes with a 7-5 run to lead the Aggies 57-43 when Keenan drew the and one foul sinking the free throw to keep it a 12-point game, 57-45. A minute later, Feliciano followed up with a three-pointer bringing the deficit back down to 10, 59-49, with 5:30 left to play. Trailing by as many as 17, Keenan responded with a 6-0 run of her own put the Aggies within 11, 70-57, with about a minute left on the clock. Foul trouble for the Aggies put the Ducks back ahead by 13, but Aubrey Ennis converted the fast break layup to bring the final deficit to 11, 72-61.
