Women’s Basketball Concludes Season at #17 DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team struggled to overcome at 28-point deficit at the half, ultimately dropping the contest to No. 17 DeSales 88-65 on the road.
 
The Aggies kept pace with the Bulldogs trailing by just two after the first 2:30 until an 6-0 run pushed DeSales lead to eight. Haley Keenan hit the jumper to end the run and bring the deficit back down to six with Alexis Wright following up to keep the lead to just five for the Bulldogs. A 10-4 run for DeSales increased the lead to 10 with Keenan knocking down the three to end the first quarter to place the Aggies behind by just seven, 24-17.
 
Wright put up four points to start the second to keep the Bulldogs lead to six. The Aggies offense slowed with DeSales capitalizing off a 17-0 run to bring the lead to 23, 44-21, with 3:30 until the half. DelVal put together another four points from the charity stripe, but couldn't catch up trailing the Bulldogs 53-25 at the end of the first half.
 
The Bulldogs increased the lead to as many as 30 points when DelVal's offense picked up momentum with a 16-5 run, highlighted by five points from Ciana Feliciano, to bring the deficit down to 19 points, 64-45, with 1:39 left in the quarter. DeSales held the 5-2 edge in the final minute to increase the lead to 22, 69-47.

The fourth-quarter was a back-and-forth battle with the Bulldogs just inching out the Aggies 19-18. DelVal shot 57.14% from the field led by Wright with 10 points while adding 2-of-4 shooting from the line. The Aggies held the 7-4 advantage in the final two minutes to bring the final deficit to 23, 88-65.
