Delaware Valley Women's Basketball Falls To Arcadia On Senior Day

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. On Saturday afternoon, Delaware Valley women's basketball hosted Senior against the Knights of Arcadia.  Delaware Valley women's basketball honored their three seniors Haley Keenan, Jenna Schiessl, and Taylor Richardson prior to the start of the game. After a dominant first quarter, Arcadia would never look back as they went on to defeat Delaware Valley by a score of. Arcadia would sweep the regular season series as Delaware Valley would fall to 16-7 on the season and 7-5 in MAC Freedom play.  
 
Arcadia started off the scoring with two three-point makes in the first minute of play. Delaware would respond with a three-pointer of their own as senior Jenna Schiessl cut the deficit 6-3 with 7:56 remaining in the first period. The Knights would go on a 6-3 run at the halfway point of the quarter to take a 12-6 lead. Arcadia would go on to make two more three pointers and take an 18-10 lead with 3:16 left in the 1st. The Aggies would respond as sophomore Aubrey Ennis connected on a mid-range jump shot to cut the deficit to six. At the end of the first quarter, Arcadia led Delaware Valley by a score of 23-17. The Knights shot 50% from the field in the first quarter and shot 4-9 from 3pt range.
 
After a quick Arcadia basket to start the second quarter, sophomore Alexis Wright made a three-point shot followed by a Haley Keenan layup to cut the deficit to three. With 7:59 remaining in the half, senior Haley Keenan made a drive-in layup to make it a one-point game. Arcadia would go on a 5-0 run and take a 30-24 lead with 6:37 remaining. The Aggies would counter with a made layup by Alexis Wright from an assist by Aubrey Ennis. After a scoreless three minutes, Arcadia would end the half on an 8-0 run to take a 39-26-point lead. The Aggies were led in scoring by Hailey Keenan with 8pts 6reb 3ast and 2 steals.
 
Arcadia would get the scoring started in the 3rd quarter with a made layup in the first eighteen. Delaware Valley would go on a 4-0 run as sophomore Maisie Neuber would make two free throws and then shortly after connect on a mid range jump shot to make it 41-30 with 8:19 remaining. A Knights layup followed by another three-point make for the Arcadia would increase their lead to fourteen points. After a full timeout, the Aggies would score quickly right after as Maisie Neuber would score off an assist from Haley Keenan. Arcadia would continue their impressive offensive performance with their ninth three-pointer made at the halfway mark of the 3rd quarter. Arcadia would end the 3rd quarter on a 11-4 run and take a 60-40 lead with one quarter left to play.
 
After an Arcadia made basket to start the fourth quarter, Maisie Neuber responded with make a layup for Delaware Valley. With 5:48 remaining in the game, Neuber would make another layup as the Aggies cut their deficit 62-45. Arcadia and Delaware Valley would trade three-pointers and the Knights would lead 65-49 with four minutes to play. Moments after, sophomore Ciana Feliciano scored an open layup off an assist from Jenna Schiessl. Feliciano and Keenan would make back-to-back layups with less than 1:30 remaining to cut the deficit back to single digits. Arcadia would hold on and defeat the Aggies by a score of 68-59.
