Aggies Fall at Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – The Delaware Valley women's basketball team fell behind the Neumann Knights early in the first quarter and struggled to mount a comeback, ultimately dropping the contest 75-60 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Aggies managed to even the score twice in the first two minutes, but the Knights pulled ahead by six, 10-4. Neumann held the Aggies to just 11 more points in the frame to create an 11-point advantage to end the quarter. Alexis Wright led DelVal in the frame with a team-high eight points. DelVal's offense slowed in the second quarter with Haley Keenan and Ciana Feliciano putting up six points for the Aggies leaving the Knights with a 22-point lead at the half.
 
DelVal came out of the half stronger shooting 66.7% from the field and 80% from the charity stripe. The Knights edged out the Aggies with 21 points in the frame to keep a double-digit advantage, 64-37. A 3-of-4 effort from the line for Keenan sparked a 7-0 run for the Aggies early in the final quarter to cut the deficit to 24, 68-44. The Aggies continued to hold the 16-7 advantage through the rest of the frame led by a nine-point effort from Feliciano. In the end, DelVal fell short while the Knights prevailed, 75-60.
 
Keenan led the Aggies in scoring with 22 points and in the battle at the boards with a team-high 10 rebounds. Feliciano and Wright also ended the game in double-digit scoring.
 
The Aggies return to action this Tuesday, Dec. 17 when they host Montclair State at James Work Gymnasium for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
