PREVIEW: Football to Host Eastern for Senior Day

The Delaware Valley football team (6-2, 5-2 MAC) will host Eastern University (4-4, 4-3 MAC) to wrap up the 2024 regular season home schedule on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.. Senior day celebrations will begin at 11:25 a.m.
Last week, the Aggies suffered their second loss of the season to the undefeated King's College Monarch's 14-6 in Wilkes-Barre. Louie Barrios IV scored the lone DelVal touchdown in the fourth quarter with a 13-yard run. With seconds remaining on fourth down, King's sacked Barrios on the five-yard line to end the game.

Notes/Storylines
  • Against King's Barrios tossed for 119 on only 7 completions, while Nick Arcaroli went 4-4 for 47. Over the 2024 season, Barrios has thrown for a career-high 1257 yards passing last year's total of 1123 in 11 games.
  • Jack Fallon led both sides rushing for 109 yards on 25 attempts. The sophomore ranks third in the Middle Atlantic Conference with 690 yards.
  • Alvaro Lora led the receiving room with only a pair of catches for 80 yards.
  • Jacquez Mabin had another stellar outing with nine total tackles and 1.5 sacks while forcing a fumble. Mabin leads the conference in both tackles of loss (19.5), sacks (11) and force fumbles (5)
  • Brandon Perot recovered his second fumble of this season against King's when Mabin knocked it loose in the fourth quarter. He is now tied with five others in the conference including Andrew Vernieri and Balkcom.
  • Eastern currently enjoys a three-game streak with victories over Alvernia, Stevenson, and Misericordia. Their fourth win on the season came against Albright in week 4, 41-20.
  • The Eagles who score an average of 23.8 points a game will go up against the 11th-ranked Aggies defense who yield just 10.9 points a game.
  • Graduate quarterback Brett Nabb poses a duel threat as he leads the Eagles in not just passing yards with 935, but also rushing yards netting 682 this season good four fourth in the MAC.
  • Gashawn Moody leads the Eastern defense with 84 tackles (44 solo), one of the best marks in the conference.
